Florian van Roekel created a photobook of officer workers in their cubicles/workstations. He had used a 5 x 7 format camera with artificial lighting. His lighting consisted of a 1,200W battery pack with two 1,200W strobes, while taking 120 photos a day.
His choice of using artificial lighting helped the theme of 'How Terry Likes His Coffee" photobook. He wanted to create an artificial, unreal life of a lifeless office cubicle workplace. His technique of observing for hours and waiting for the workers to forget his presence helped the credibility of the worker's routine.
I chose Florian Van Roekel's work because it showed that he had patience. I tend to gravitate towards work that relates to how I work, and I enjoy waiting for the "shot" like van Roekel.
