Diane Arbus

(March 14, 1923 - July 26, 1971)

Diane Arbus "the photographer of the freaks" is best remembered for her often surreal like black and white photos of nudists, transgenders, and circus performers. She liked to take abnormal pictures, believing that the camera should be, "a little cold  and a little harsh" and letting the scrutiny behind the pictures bring out the truth: flaws.
