Ashly Mollienido's 8/26-28 Post

Philip-Lorca diCorcia

This American Photographer gained his bachelors in Fine Arts in Boston, and his masters at Yale University. He shows his art in his two solo exhibits in New York. He received Martell's Artist of the Year in 2012 which was followed by a touring his exhibit in China. He is currently living and working in New York and teaching at Yale University.
I was intrigued by his photographs because they seem to be centered on the human and their emotions in daily activities. He captures these people's expressions flawlessly, that makes me think I can feel what they are feeling. In particular his series, "Hustlers". The photos, along with the simple title, makes me create a story, and imagine the lives of these people.
