Catherine Meadows - Weekly Post

David Moore was born and raised in London. He graduated from West Surrey College of Art and Design in 1988. After college he began his career as a photographer and educator. He is currently a lecturer at Central Saint Martins College in London. After looking through his projects, the one that stood out to me as most interesting was "Pictures from the Real World". This collection of photographs takes place on a council estate in London between 1987-1988. Back then, color photography wasn't very popular. Most photographers never used color in their work, which makes David's work stand out from the rest. David's photographs include colored candid shots of families during the year 1988. It's really interesting to me to see how much things have changed since back then, such as the clothes we wear, how we do our hair, and even how we decorate our houses. I think David did an excellent job at showing many aspects of how life was back in 1988.
