Brassai

Brassai was born on the 9th of September in the year 1899, a hungarian photographer and filmmaker born in Tansylvannia. Brassai first started out as a Journalist for the Hungarian papers in Berlin. He moved to Paris around 1925 and became a journalist in the city. As he worked he often wandered the city streets at night, which led to his his passion for photography. His first works are entitled Paris de nuit or Paris at Night. Brassai photographed the ordinary life of the city, but in its simplistic nature expressed it's marvelousness. In 1948 Brassai had a single art show in the Museum of Modern Art in the United States. He was featured there again in 1953, 1956, and 1968.
