Thilde Jensen has captured condemned people of our society in the series "The Unwanted". These powerful images are showcase of people society has written off. Whatever the reason may be these people are shunned and live a life of darkness and seems a never ending spiral of depression.
Thilde Jensen utilizes the dramatic lighting extremely well to emphasize empathy for the subjects in the image. By entering their personal space Jensen is able to capture their vulnerability. This allows the viewer to get true emotion and a glimpse of these peoples lives. Most of the subjects are turned away or not looking at their camera, which shows that although you are in their comfort zone, there is still a barrier.
I can sense their level of comfort through the images. I wish he could of had somebody actually look at the camera. This would show a complete let down of their guard. The lighting is absolutely amazing. Although there is a slight barrier I still appreciate the up close and perosnal of these stangers and getting a glimpse of their world.
