Nini Norris Weekly Post 6.2
Ansel Adams was an American environmental photographer most known for his landscapes. Adams began photographing, as more than just a hobby, in the late 1920's. Soons after he became a household name in the photography game, being a co-founder in the Group f/64. Adam's believed not just in capturing the environment but enhancing and intensifying it so that it transcends into art created in the artist's mind. This photograph was taken in 1942 in Arizona. As an environmentalist, he used his photos as a platform to inspire the preservation and protection of our wilderness.
Judy Natal is a Chicago-based photographer whose work focuses on landscapes that have been altered by the human hand. In her series EarthWords, shes found recycled signage and created a dialogue between them and the landscapes she placed them in. She does this as a nod to only western signage in the desert, ex, The Hollywood hills sign. She is very focused on the human relationship to nature and our effects on the world.
