Sarah Widenhofer - Weekly Post #10

Graham Miller is an Australian based landscape and portrait photographer. He has been exhibited both nationally and internationally in places including China, Germany and Japan. Miller creates high contrast color photographs using both deep and shallow depth of field. His portraits most often frame the subject(s) from about waist height and up, allowing the viewer to appreciate the body language and facial expressions.

The series that Graham Miller produces have almost a poetic feel, with titles such as "All That is Solid Melts into Air" and "Waiting for a Miracle," Miller makes photographs of people and there surroundings to create ambiguous images that create a sense of truth and mystery.  He is passionate and careful about what he photographs, and he intends for the final pieces to create a sense of emotion for the viewers. His photographs also tell a story of the people in the images.
