Sarah Widenhofer - Weekly Post #11

Miquel Llonch is a Spanish photographer studying at the Institut D'Estudis Fotograpics de Catalunya. His work consists of both personal projects and commercial assignments.  Llonch usually works in low lighting situations, and relies on contrast to make his images pop. He shoots both portraits and landscapes using similar color and lighting.  He often chooses to use motion blur or out of focus images as well.

The photos shown above are from a personal project titled "In the fields of gold." What I find interesting is that the images all have a touch of gold color, whether or not the image is actually of a field or not. The detail in the landscapes allows the viewer to appreciate what nature can create, where as the expressions in the portraits cause the viewer to consider the emotions human nature creates. After the projects we have been working on in class, I can also appreciate how Llonch creates unity in the lighting and color of each image, whether or not the subject matter is precisely unified.
