KEVIN FAINGNAERT
1. Kevin Faingnaert is a documentary and portrait photographer who lives in Gent, Belgium. He takes portraits in different ways that you would normally not see when searching for a "portrait photographer" and i think thats what i like about his work. He adds in different elements that youd wouldn't think yo use for a portrait and it really just works all together.
2. The faces of the first and last picture and how they are positioned are how general portraits would be taken, however he added in the element of simple white paper and bright green plants to change the directive of the whole thing. Both elements really make the photos interesting even though they are supposed to be a simple portrait. The second picture is interesting as well. He uses a balloon to be the 'face' of the person and the actual face is just laying on the table. The placement of the balloon acts as a natural face and would be seen in that position in a normal portrait.
3. I searched on the blog site to find just a portrait photographer and im glad that i found one that does these sort of pictures in a different and interesting way. The portraits that i think of would just be head on with a simple background but he really took it to the next level with the extra unexpected elements. I really enjoyed these three photographs and they'll make me think of doing portraits in different ways.
