John Gossage
In Gossage' s project Nothing, he photographs what the average viewer would call nothing. Most of his pictures for this project are created with with a relatively small aperture. The pictures were made in black and white and are mostly landscape pictures.
In Nothing, Gossage challenges the viewers schema of nothing. He brings attention to subject matters that are usually overlooked. The main purpose of this project is to show that everything has content, or better yet significance.
I agree with Gossage's approach to this project. A lot of things are overlook in todays world and in general. I think it is a good idea for someone to bring attention to these kind of things. Also I agree with Gossage's compositional choices.
