Dawit Samson - Weekly Artist Post 3

Lee Jeffries

1.) I am convinced Lee Jeffries has God's camera because the pictures his portraits are insane. The sharpness captures every scar, every wrinkle, everything. Jeffries has the model's face centered, but the background is either something dark or black background.

2.) Jeffries gives the models, homeless men and women, a platform to tell their story, not with their tongue, but with their eyes, their scars, their wrinkles, their pose. These three pictures go from a homeless man that looks like Jesus, to a homeless Joker, and ended off by the scream.

3.) Jeffries choices to have the models centered is really key as it forces the viewer to look at the model and his/her story. The background assists their story. The black background suggests that they are lost, unheard, and in a dark place.
