Joseph Szabo was a high school photography teacher after studying at Pratt University. From there he started going to the beach and taking photos of the teenagers on the beach. He does one of the greatest jobs of putting the emotions of teenagers into a photo. He is able to take a camera and capture moments that many photographers could only dream of. Ripping down the wall that is usually put up when a camera is there he is able to capture so many of the natural tendencies of teenagers.
I love Szabo's work and I think the emotion that is in all of his photos in incredible. I think his use of black and white really adds emphasis to so many of his photos. Szabo's body of work is something that I would only hope to have. Teenagers in our society are so hard to photograph and some how he never let that obstacle stop him from capturing what he wants. However they are the voice of the future and I think it is incredibly important to make sure that they are noticed.
