Robert Lamb Weekly Post #6

Angie McMonigal is an American Photographer whose work has been awarded and displayed all over the world. She has been taking photographs scene 2001, once she become more involved in photography she attended a few classes but most of what she knows is self-taught. Her focus in photography is “an exploring the broader urban landscape, its architectural details and how we express ourselves within this landscape” (quoted by McMonigal on her personal website). For her camera equipment she uses a Nikon D700 with multiple lenses. Over-all she tries to keep her equipment to a minimum, only using things such as a tripod and flash when deemed necessary.

The three images above are from her Architecture portfolio. With these images it is clear that she prefers architectural photography. What interests me most about these images is how they each convey a sense of time moving on.  In the first image do to the massive size to the two building they look as though they are both converging on a single point, and would meet if they continued on in height. Something such this looks very simplistic yet it hold a multitude of information and thought. The main reason I was attracted to her work is how she approaches the world with her camera to bring a now outlook on life.
