Ben Huff travels and explores to take pictures of the American West. He takes night and day pictures with mostly neutral colors. Almost all of his photographs are taken outside in the nature. All of his photos are taken from a far distance and have depth to them. Most of his pictures are taken with natural lighting unless it is at night, then he has to use flash to get the picture he wants.
There are track marks of cars in every picture, showing that there once was people there but as of right now it is deserted. He does not take a lot of pictures of people and if he does they are alone, showing isolation and emptiness. If he has objects in the scene they are alone with nothing around them, contributing to the theme of isolation. All three photos have snow in them, showing what season he was in and how cold it is in the West.
Ben takes pictures of nature in order to motivate people to explore and navigate around the beautiful west. I enjoy his photographs because he does not take staged photos. He prefers to take pictures of nature where there are not any people around. He pictures are relaxing and soothing to look at because they are not hectic. Huff makes me want to explore the west and take my own pictures of nature.
