Brianna Ivey: Weekly Artist Post

Lauryn Ishak

1. Photographer Lauryn Ishak made two hikes on two peaks The Dolomites on the Italian Alps. Her first hike was the perimeter of the mountain and her second hike was on the mountain peaks. Lauryn Ishak made her photos during different times of the day such as sunrise and when the fog was close to the mountain tops. Lauryn Ishak used both light and color to made her pictures. She used landscape and portrait orientation for her pictures. Lauryn used a tripod to make she her photographs was sharp.

2. The first hike that Lauryn Ishak went on was just exploring the mountain. The second hike that Lauryn Ishak went on she stayed in Rifugio Locatelli which have an historical importance. Rifugio Locatelli like many sites in Dolomites was destroyed with a grenade during the first World Wars and rebuilt after the wars. Lauryn Ishak was amazed by how each of the Dolomites peaks had a different site. During the summer, the mountain is full of people from different places to look at the mountain cliffs, valleys and the blue sky.

3.  I like the choices that Lauryn Ishak made. You can clearly see with each picture that Lauryn Ishak took the time to make sure that each picture was right. Ishak probably spent the whole day exploring the mountain and its peaks to see which setting was better for which time of day. I think that Lauryn was wised in using a tripod for her photographs, because if she did not that her pictures would not have been as amazing.
