Skylar Coleman - Weekly Artist

Pooja Jain

  1. These three photos have just slight pops of color that stand out because of the majority of white that fills them. In the first photo there is a lot of vertical and horizontal lines that compliment one another. The hidden face of the figure makes that picture more captivating in that it makes you wonder why she is hiding behind the sheets. The touch of just the one bright blue bowl in the room filled with natural lighting makes the picture more interesting. The second photo has the same kind of concept with the red bowl and bag the woman is carrying. The blue tints along the wall compliment them well. Also, the way the woman is angled in the door is almost reflected with the shadow on the wall to the right of the frame. The third photo has very nice gestures. The way the woman's hands cradle the second woman's head without touching it provides nice movement.
  2. Pooja Jain is a photographer from India, who looks at the world in an analytical way which provides a contemporary angle. In her photos you can see this philosophy and different approach  applied to the way she takes her images.
  3. I liked the lightness in all of the photos from this series. The white clothing gives a very pure and innocent feeling while complimenting their skin tones. When in sunlight it also makes them appear very angelic/mystical.
