Atif Saeed must be a former student of Shane because back in 2012 when he climbed into a lion sanctuary to snap the now iconic "attacking lion photo", the phrase "I dare you" must of been echoing throughout his head. Aside from fearing nothing, Mr. Saeed has defined his career with photographing nature and wildlife. His landscapes often implement water reflections that further showcase the powerful reds and yellows that we see in the sunsets.
Because Mr. Saeed also photographs wild animals its safe to assume shutter speed is crucial. If I had to guess, I'd assume a good shutter speed setting for all enraged charging apex predators is probably around 1/1000. Another technical choice that is evident in his work is the blurred out backgrounds that are present behind the subject. This obviously means he's stopped all the way down in aperture.
As mentioned before, I believe Mr. Saeed fully encompasses the "I dare you" lifestyle. You could see the blood on that lions teeth and everything; and that leaves me to believe that anyone who can remember the importance of focus while a lion is running at you with its mouth open and death in its eyes deserves to be on the weekly artist blog.
