Catherine Meadows Weekly Post 2

Marco seems to consistently put the subject in the center of the frame, which is unusual to see when being taught to always focus on using rule of thirds. What is also consistent with this series is that he seems to be shooting at the same time of day, when the sun is brightest. Marco seems to take pictures that have a pop of color in them which really adds to the pictures.

Marco's intention with this project is to document what people don't "want to see" or "are able to see". I thought this quote went well with his photos, "I want to analyse immigration from a different perspective, because behind a simple house made of wood and plastic, there is much more than we expect."

I think Marco's work is very interesting to look at. It's definitely a point of view that we don't often see here in the US. Marco's intentions are clear and powerful in his work. The fact that there are no people in his photos makes me feel like the photos lack. I think it could be interesting to see some candid shots of the refugees outside of their dwelling, but that also may take away from what point Marco was trying to say. Either way, I think that his work is well thought out conceptually and is powerful despite there being any refugees pictured.
