Kweku Asafu-Adjaye Weekly Post 2

This artist named Jeremy Jackson does a form a photography called Light Painting. This method involves using long exposures from 1 second to even 2 minutes or longer to produce the desired effect. Jackson or Tackyshack as he is known as uses various tools to create these desired effects. He mentions that he uses LED swords, custom-made wheels, and other tools to design the final outcome. Using the correct lights also come big into play. Whether it be LEDs, steel wool that has been set on fire, or even fireworks. He always seems to find a way to create amazing works of art.

Jackson's work seem to embody openness and freedom of speech. He says he mainly does this for a hobby but then it started catching the eye of the media. So now he does it to spread awareness that anyone is capable of creating these wondrous pieces of art.

These photos he creates jumped out at me because it's something most people have not heard of before. Yet alone seen. I myself have tried doing this very thing but it is not easy. Getting the correct exposure and camera setup is crucial to the proper long exposure light painting. For even the slightest shake of the camera can throw so much hard work away since these are not photoshopped at all.
