Hanne van der Woude
Hanne van der Woude is a documentary photographer set in the Netherlands. Unlike straight photography, documentary photographers set the scene. Woude incorporates artificial light, what might please her own aesthetic senses into her decision on where the shoot takes place.
This set of photos is about the fascination of redheads and how their population is dying out.
The cause of red hair is a genetic mutation in MC1R which favors pale skin and red hair. The motivation behind these photos seems to be an appreciation for biology.
I too have an appreciation for biology, I think incorporating into photography was a good decision on Woude's part.
