Olivia Smith Weekly Post 1.2

Hin Chua first studied computer science and one day he decided to pick up a camera and since then he has focused majority on his photography skills. His largest and well-known work has been focused around his project called “After the Fall.” Through this process he has traveled to more than 40 cities and 15 different countries. While working on this project he created medium format images.

While studying his photos I came to realize Chua really focused a lot on nature and becoming one with it. He once said that the reason he focused heavily on landscapes was because he hopes that like the nature his artwork will also progress over time.

I was really drawn to Chua’s photography, just because of all of the nature he incorporated. Not just the nature, because normally I get bored of it easily, but because of how he created a different, but similar composition in each image. I hope to one say be able to look at a subject I struggle to take interesting images of and learn how to photograph it uniquely because of the composition.
