Grace Herion - weekly artist post

Emine Gozde Sevim

In this photo series, Emine Gozde Sevim uses blur and movement to capture her message. Based on the photos, I would guess that Sevim used a low ISO and a slow shutter speed. This allows the higher quality ISO to compensate esthetically for the blurry image; to capture details within the movement.

Sevim has an extremely pessimistic view on today's world. She expresses this through her photos and words. She attempts to show the violence, chaos, sadness, and struggle in the world through creating blurry but vivid photos.

I appreciate the reflection on the chaos in today's world, but it is a little pessimistic for my taste. The artist makes the world sound like a completely undesirable place to be. I'm not sure what her solution for this is.
