Skylar Coleman - Weekly Artist

Stacey Evans

  1. These three photos have to deal with shutter speed, aperture and ISO. The motion shown in the first picture is mainly blurred except for a small portion on the lake that remains clearer. The rain drops/streaks in the third photo are precise and the picture remains focused on the foreground while blurring out the background. The lighting in the second photo makes the clouds and sky really pop. The white balance works well with the natural lighting outside and the lighting inside of the train.
  2. These photos are from Stacey Evans series taken from inside moving trains. She shows her perspective as a passenger and aims to capture what is seen from the window as things go zooming by. She uses a digital single lens reflex camera.
  3. I enjoyed looking at this series because it is rare that you actually stop and take the time to truly enjoy the view looking out of a window when inside a moving vehicle. Normally it appears as a blur anyway, but the way Stacey has captured stillness within motion makes the photos more captivating.
