1). These photos speak for themselves. More aggression and violence in children, from the wars, and now new cleaning advertisement for the wives in the house to clean everything. William Klein was an American photographer. He captured many moments that can define the American history. In most of these photos, he seems to be focusing on one thing only. However, in the last photo with the children, his aperture is closed down so that he can focus on the children, and the gun is blurred.
2). William Klein's focus in all his photos was to express "Americanism". In this series, all of the photos are in black and white. I'm not sure if this was because there was no color film, or if there was, and this was intentional. The main focus in these three photos, other than the one with the woman, seem to be around violence. The young boys playing with guns, hopefully they're fake guns. And the newspaper about a man who got shot.
3). The photo with the children and the photo with the woman speaks the most to me. The boy who is holding the gun, you can see the aggression on his face, as his younger friend is looking up at him with young child like eyes. The woman holding the "Do it Yourself" cleaning supply is a marketing tool for other married women. If a man was holding the cleaning supply, the message wouldn't come across that only women should clean the house while the husbands go make the money. This photo is boarder line sexist (as was the time then) and the other two are about violence. What a great country we live in.
