SOPHIE GAMAND
1.) Sophie Gamand photographs dogs for most of her work. She says she loves to photographs dogs because it makes her better understand humans and her work shows that. She portrays shelter dogs in a beautiful way by adding filters, colorful props, and soft lighting.
2.) In the first picture, she uses a top hat with some flowers to compliment the white in the dogs fur as well as using a soft backdrop to bring everything together. She brought all these beautiful things together to show that the dog from the shelter can be beautiful too. This is similar in the third photo as well. She uses bright flowers, a soft backdrop and a glowing filter to show off the beauty of yet another shelter dog. In the second picture, the dog doesnt have any filters or props and i really dont think she needs them. The dogs expression and how happy it is shows enough emotion without having to add anything to it and thats real beauty.
3.) I think i chose these photos because i myself have two shelter dogs and when you go to the cadges to find a dog they all look very sad and dull which to some people make them unwanted. Sometimes you just have to look past all of that and see the beauty in them and this photographer really captures that. On her page she shows the name and location of the dogs so that they can be adopted and i think that really helps and shes doing a great thing.
