- If I understand the website portfolio, each set of pictures is of the same woman, young vs. old. In the older versions, the photo is zoomed in on the face, capturing each and every wrinkle, baggy eye, and age spot. The lighting seems to be intentionally stark, highlighting the extreme differences between the young, smooth skin and the old.
- Artist Conceptual / Thematic Intents
- By only allowing the viewer to see the face of the subject in the photo (old), there is no background "noise" to deter us from seeing the harsh reality of aging...and the inherent beauty that is also there.
- My Response to Stanley's Intents
- It is humbling and amazing to see the stark contrast between such vibrant, lovely youth and the inevitable mark of time. To see the young in the old and vice-versa.
