Natalie Longus - Weekly Artist Post 4

1. In Daisuke Yokota's photographs, he uses a low quality setting. After using this low quality setting, he heavily processes the photograph. Additionally, he shoots in black and white and uses flash.
2. The way Daisuke Yokota took these photos makes it seem like he intended for them to be pictures taken off guard. The way he uses flash means that each individual was in a dark room. Dark rooms are commonly not seen as places where someone would be expecting to get their photo taken, so in positioning his subjects this way, he was able to focus on the human form while capturing aloofness in their body language.
3. I was drawn to Daisuke Yokota's use of flash. This combined with the positioning of the subjects he chose to shoot gave off the feeling of an overall dark mood, and that gives it interest.
