These images use color. They are landscapes taken in Alaska. They are predominantly less saturated in color because of the time of the year that it is. Vegetation is still mainly dead in these photographs because of how cold it is, which is why the colors aren't vibrant in the landscapes. In some, the composition is mainly white because of the snow. The first photograph ics center weighted, while the other two are asymmetrical. The ice/snowbanks in the second image break the composition up in interesting geometrical ways, contrasting directionally as well as in value. All have a high depth of field.
I think these photos are meant to capture the beauty of the cold season in Alaska. It is also documenting fleeting things such as snow, ice, and tracks in the latter. They could also just be documenting the place and this place may have a specific connection with the artist.
Personally, I enjoy the way the first two images were executed, but the third is a bit lacking in some way for me. He was able to capture the very temporary pattern created by the tracks in the snow and it adds visual interest to the image. The second was composed very nicely as well.
