Weekly Post #8 Karissa Gilbertson Bernhard Edmaier for Oct 5th
Bernhard Edmaier a German photographer, loves taking pictures of water from aerial heights. Edmaier travels on local planes to take these shots of what he calls living water. The Pictures entitled Water are taken because of his fascination with the patterns of water ways and claims, "water is both living and immortal."
Edmaier's first picture is of Grand Prismatic Spring, USA showing off some of the waters vapors as the stages of water, solids, liquids, and gasses, also fascinates him. The mineral qualities of the water were really brought to life. The next picture, Skeidarar, Iceland, is a picture of the water in the semi frozen position and you can see it branching out. The last one is also of Skeidarar, Iceland but is almost completely frozen over. The waters branching is very apparent and very beautiful.
Edmaier's photography is very successful. His vision of moving water is very apparent in his art. The photos clearly show the water branching out and moving even when it's in a frozen state. The aerial shots are carefully crafted and taken at the time Edmaier wanted. He has several of these on his web page, linked above, and if you enjoyed the three above you should check out his other works.
