Ashly Mollienido Weekly Post #5

Life's a Parade, Melbourne 1985

A writer and a photographer, Ellis has won many awards and grants. He is the founder of Australia's first photography gallery, and has seventeen books to his name. I particularly like his vintage taste in style. His subjects and settings are perfectly paired together, having this overall sense of the classics. He not only captures his subjects well, but the time frames.
Mother Goose, Los Angelos 1978
Australian Graffiti Revisited,
Windsor 1979

Ellis captured the social lives of others through series of different encounters. He documented the peculiar behaviors through pictures that spoke loudly often raising more questions than providing an answer. In much of his galleries he displays nudes, gays, and social documentary of many different places and peoples.
