Catherine Meadows - Weekly Post #3

Elena Kalis is an underwater photographer. She lives in the Bahamas so naturally she was by water all the time. This helped her establish an interest in underwater photography. She says she loves "how different things and people look underwater, movements are graceful and free and it has a dreamlike quality that is difficult to achieve on land." I've always found underwater photography very interesting for this same reason. I was very impressed by the shots that Elena was able to get. Her underwater series that I particularly enjoy is her "Alice In Waterland" series. She did an excellent job of capturing the fantasy and dreamlike theme that's in Alice In Wonderland. She did a good job of using props that go along with Alice In Wonderland as well, such as the clock and the playing cards. She also did a good job with the outfits that she had her models wear. I really enjoyed looking through each of her photos.
