Clarissa Stanley - Weekly Artist Post 7

Kata Sediak

1. These photos taken by Kata Sediak are of her two young son's summer in Slovakia. Because the photos are so recent and high definition the viewer can infer that the photographer is probably using a strong DSLR camera. Sediak appears to be very close to the subjects which create a closeness for the viewer as if they are at the playdate with the children.
2. Scale is relative in the last two pictures where the viewer is just as tall as the children at play at eye level, the first one appears to be her looking down observing the playdate as an outsider looking in unnoticed.
3. I like how it is shot in black and white which brings a certain amount of nostalgia to the pictures, the detail is stunning and the contrast is just as accurate as if it were a color photo, the last one truly captures childhood for me, the babysitter or older cousin running towards the hiding, poughting child with whimsical clouds in the background.
