Clarissa Stanley - Weekly Artist Post 8

Francesca Woodman

1. It is clear because of the year Woodman is using a much simpler camera than a DSLR. Woodman shooting in black and white, her photos lack contrast but while she takes advantage of grey tones for blurs of the body when in motion.
2.The use of black and white allows the picture to take on the eerie and vague feel that was intended by the photographer, which is clear also in the poses of the bodies and set up of the decaying lonely room
3. I like the modesty of the first photograph, as she covers up with the wall paper and blends in to hiding with the wall and how the next picture contrast by the subject taking on a more animal vibe crawling and looking through the mirror for something. The last picture is probably my least favorite as it makes me think of the photographers early death.
