Lauren Reynard Weekly Artist Post 10

Isabelle & Alexis

1. Isabelle and Alexis collaborated on a project called "Blossom" where they set off 'color bombs' in different places and photograph the outcome. They each do their own forms of photography but when they come together they do something totally different and creative. The color bombs are set off in what seems to be dull and plain places and really show their boldness.

2. In the first photo the orange color bomb is set off in what looks to be an old warehouse and the photographers really had to get the movement at the right time when the smoke was right in the center and lifted from the ground. In the second photo the blue color bomb is in another abandoned place and the smoke seems to take a sideways direction instead of vertical like in the first photo. And finally, in the third photo the pink color bomb was places in a small body of water and the photographers had to get at a higher vantage point to capture the full composition. The smoke looks as if it is originating from the water and is very interesting.

3. I think i chose these photos because of the amazing color that it brings. The places the color bombs are set off are so dull and diluted but when these colors are set off it brings life and brightness to the composition making it beautiful. I think these artists collaborated well and i thought it was interesting because most of these feature shoots are only of a single artists work and not of a collaboration; another reason why i chose to research these.
