Mayteana Colon weekly post 10

Osvaldo Sanviti

1) Osvaldo takes up close portraits of women in a particular line of work. He photographs them before they starting working. The images are saturated in color and he uses artificial light.

2) The first image is of a women front light brightly by artificial light, it appears that he was close to his subject and probably low to the ground. The colorful background and dark chair contrast with the paleness of her skin. In the second image its almost the reverse. The background is very washed out appears white while the subject is very bright and vibrant. This is also another up close portrait. The last image is of a women sitting. She is also pale skin but the contrast of her dark hair and the colorful curtains around her add contrast to the image. She appears to artificially lit as well.

3) I chose these images because of the content and the reason behind the content. It was very interesting concept that I never thought about previously. I find the first image very striking and alluring while the last image almost makes me feel sorrow and with drawn. His images invoke a feeling and a thought that appeals to my nature.
