Deja Thompson - Weekly Artist Post 8

Anouk Kruithof

1) Anouk Kruithof uses light and color. In the first picture he is using an iPhone and the last two it appears that he is using a digital camera. The subjects are center weighted. The first picture uses color as a filter. The second uses color as a contrast. And the last picture uses color to blend. In the first and last picture Kruithof  is stay with in 6 ft of the subjects. In the second picture is standing atlas 10 ft away in order to capture the subjects full body.

2) These pictures are all about different things. The first is about the over exposure of the camera due to phones and everyone taking their "selfies" all the time. The second is about how life is aways hanging in the balance. The last is about trying to fit in when you are different.

3) The last picture shows a boy with Vitiligo and his background is the same color of his skin before it changed. You can see he is uncomfortable with his circumstance. He could possibly be bullied due to his disease. The second picture is of a man trying to balance while being attached to ceiling by many different ropes. It exemplifies the things people have to deal with every day as they struggle to balance their life with everything they have going on. The first picture shows the over exposure of life. Pictures use to be sacred to people and now with a camera on every phone it gives off this perception of take the picture and move on to the next thing.
