Smiler




1. Smiler uses a snapshot esthetic in his photos. They are black and white and very much overexposed. These photos have high contrast and are cut off in an abnormal fashion. 

2. These photos make the viewer wonder what is going on in the scene. They are up-close and personal. There is not a lot of background information in the photos and the subject is either cut off or overexposed. 

3. I really enjoy these photos because of the high contrast and overexposure. The black and white contrast reminds me a little bit of Annie Leibovitz. I also like that these pictures are not of a beautiful scene or staged—so it seems. They are fun, funny and interesting.
