1. Burtynsky's photos communicate his concerns with the world's relationship with water. He expresses the effects that water has on people and the environment both positive and negative. Burtynsky is interested in the love hate relationship between water and life. His concerns are also about long term effects that water can have on the earth as well as the population.

2. Burtynsky's photos are interesting to me because they share the same subject but look so different. I like the variety of ways he chose to depict the way water exists and is used around the world. I really enjoy the use of color in a lot of his photos, especially the second picture above. The way the orange is so vibrant throughout the photo makes the picture more interesting and draws in the viewer. I think that it would still be a successful picture if he chose not to make the orange pop as much but, the decision to have the orange more vibrant makes the picture more beautiful.

3. Ways to express similar concerns as Burtunsky's would be to capture the different ways water is being used it misused. Showing all of the empty water bottles that are littered all over the ground would be one way. Making a series of the bottled water being displayed in vending machines and stores would also be interesting.
