Jay SanPedro Weekly Pt.2
Irina Rozovsky is originally from Moscow but was raised in Boston, MA. She currently resides in Brooklyn, NY and is a teacher at the International Center of Photography. A lot of her photography are photos taken in different countries throughout the world, viewed in a manner not seen through social media or viewed as death.
It is interesting to view her images because they show society as a reality compared to what is seen through instagram or the news, where all we see is conflict. Her photos displays people and their actions throughout there everyday lives and how everything is not negative, but yet the positive side. For example the images above were taken in Israel. People usually think of the middle east as war and death, but the images above shows peace.
One thing I would like to take from Irina would be her ability to capture images and show people that everything that we see or hear about other countries is not always true when it comes conflict and death.
