Chip Forelli has been a professional photographer for 25 years and has done a lot of commercial photography for companies ranging from BMW to energy. He has some color photography, but much of his well know work is done in black and white, and focuses on the subjects in their environment and has emphasis on the shape and placement of the subjects. He welcomes motion blur in many of his photographs. However, most of the photograph is still and only one subject or portion of the photo is in motion blur.
Perhaps he uses the motion blur as a way to express the constant movement and revolution of the world and the way each object interacts with the movement if their environment. His use of heavy contrast between his highlights and shadows creates a bold environment.
