David Zilber
David Zilber uses 135 Format film to capture his images. His photographs use the subject itself to create a composition that moves the viewers eye around the image. Lines are created by the positioning of the objects, such as the fallen chairs in the image above creating a diagonal line from the top left to the bottom right while their metal base frame creates a more subtle, but visible perpendicular line.
Zilber tends to photograph "found objects" in their environment like chairs in a tree, which perhaps could be a statement of the interaction of humans with their environment and the mark or trail we leave behind. His portraits are typically of his subjects interacting with their environment, which again could speak towards this feeling of humans and their place in the world.
