Tony Armstrong is a landscape and
wildlife photographer from England. As a recently retired businessman he now
devotes his time to his photography. His work captures th serenity England’s
most beautiful landscapes.
Much of
Armstrong’s work encompasses the movement of time; whether it is through a
setting sun or fog rolling in over hills. I enjoy his pictures in which he uses
a longer shutter speed to capture the movement of fog or water. This movement
brings life to his art. He does more than snaps a picture of a landscape, but
captures the essence of the moment he is there.
Being a fan
of landscape and nature photography I hope to spend more time being outdoors
with my camera. I like that Armstrong does not travel far for photo shoots, but
finds beauty in the places he lives and knows. Many people think you have to
travel to exotic places to create great landscape photography, but it is the
photographer that makes the picture. I hope to include the beautiful scenery of where I am from in my work this semester.
