DeAzia Chilton weekly post

Erik Ravelo

Cuban  Multi media Artist, Erik Ravelo captures the disruption of normal childhood in his project entitled. "The Untouchables" in this Series Ravelo photographs children  crucified to those people or or industries that harm them or oppress them.  The first image depicts war in syria, the second image captures sexual abuse within tourism industry in Thailand, and the third image shows childhood obesity caused by fast food.

I feel that this project is very powerful and informative. The issues he captured in this project are issues discussed everyday but never from a child's perspective. However children are in danger more so than adults. Ravelo's Idea behind the project was to illustrate the idea that "the right to childhood should be untouchable."-- Ravelo.
