Lauren Reynard Weekly artist post 13

Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud

1. Julia Galdo and Cody Cloud are artists that collaborate to make the group "JUCO". They met in college at The San Francisco Art Institute and worked on assignments together; which then lead to a career together. They are now based in Los Angeles and make very beautiful and vivid work. From their portfolio i gather they do alot of portrait and texture work.

2. In these three photos their style shows through and it is the same throughout the portfolio. They focus on patterns, color, and interesting poses. The first picture is more of an optical illusion the way she is standing but also in a chair but is also sort of floating in front of a pattern. In the second photo, more patterns and color are added (similar to the first) however she is in a more normal pose. And the third photo, being the same, is all about texture, pattern, and color. Everything seems chaotic in these photos yet they also seem like they were meant to go together.

3. These photos really caught my eye with all of the colors and patterns. At first glance its sort of messy and unrelated but after reading the photos more, you see that these patterns and colors belong together. The whole concept is interesting and it makes the viewer want to find more things within the photos and really read and look for more.
