Parker Austin Weekly Artist Post 14

Man Ray

1) Man Ray was an American visual artist who spent a lot of his time in France. This particular set of photos is from a collection of negatives. These were taken from a film reel rather than a exposure paper. Using objects as well as people in his photos. Close ups, head frames, and profile sets ups are used.
2) His use of negative is a strange path to take that ive never seen before. though they are not all negatives they aren't exactly normal pictures. the use of motion blur and close ups ad a whole new story to what could have been a normal negative. But most of all the last one looks like it was drawn and it is confusing.
3)I honestly like the negative approach. I get the creepiest vibe from these pictures the top on of the girl is almost nightmare fuel and it wouldnt have that effect if it wernt for the motion blur. and the middle one i didnt even realize what it was until i looked at it for long enough to blink and i say the colors switch in the dark of my eyelids.
