Michael C. Snell is a photographer living in Kansas.  He also travels around the world taking interesting pictures of interesting places. Out of all the pictures he has made, these are the most down to home meaning his home that I thought would represent him the best. While they have all the right elements for a good picture he has some amazingly breathtaking shots on his website I hope you wont miss! These pictures, are of his home on days that seem gray and aren't fancy or fantastic in he sense of fantasy that so many people capture but these are more text book and down to earth.

Snell in the first picture captures the Castle Rock on an interesting cloudy day with the sun hitting the rock at the right time of day to bring out the yellow tone of the mineral. The clouds may be gray, but they break up at the middle and top to capture a beautiful blue color.  The clouds not being present would have still made for a nice picture but chose a more interesting time to take the picture. The second picture is an re-enactment picture and again plays off of contrasting colors. This time Snell chose to use the green and red colors. Again interesting but the little blue tinge of fog off to the right makes the picture just that more interesting.  The next picture, The White Cloud Flea Market, at first glance, looks like a little clutter bugs trailer over flowing with found items.  In reality, this picture has allot of live and colors to it. Some of the colors have a muted morning look to them as the bright yellow of the sun has just started to peek out over the horizon and the yellows blues and greens really stand out here in this picture. The star of this work is the flag and the sign that says '"BELIEVE" in caps and hearts on either side where a quotation may be found.

I started by leading you to believe that these Kansas pictures were unremarkable and just a bland part of photographer Snell's pictures.  In reality, there's much more to each picture if you look beyond the surface of each work. Please take to heart that not all pictures have to be glowing rainbow night contrast pictures or sun shining bright in the sky calender shots.  Each of these pictures has there own charm and now please see Snell's other photos and see the charm in each one for yourself at Michael C. Snell.
