Carlos L. Esguerra is a fillipino photographer born in the Phillipines and currently live in New York City.  He loves capturing the beauty of nature itself especially by capturing landscapes.  Within his landscapes their consists of the least number of elements and shown in a simple manor.  He strive to make his works clean and uncluttered.  His photos are influenced by his interests in the Japanese Zen principles.

The three photographs are from his collection known as White Sands.  These photos were taken in White Sands, New Mexico which is also known and White Sands National Monument.  It is an area in which the military use as a training site.  These photos are interesting because they have very few elements in them but appear amazing.  I would have never guessed or imagine that this location was used as a training site.  It fascinating to see that Mr. Esguerra was able to capture the beauty of this area, kind of giving it a false representation for what it really is.  It reminds me of commercials that show phenomenal pictures of vacation sites but when you actually get there its completely different.
