Alicia Vera Is based in Mexico City. She has a passion for women's issues and started documenting the lives of of sex workers. In all her photo's the people that are found in them are people that have intense stories and she has a desire to share their story with the world.
The series above in particular is called Eden. Vera met Eden when she was 18 years old right after she had began to work as a social worker. After many years their friendship had only grew and was able to document extremely personal things that Eden had to go through. For example after getting caught three times Eden had to go tell her mother about her profession and how she was having to face jail time. And not only did Alicia get to be her friend through it all but also was able to document it.
Alicia's heart for her work in shown throughout all of her photographs and it is amazing to be able to show that through and through.
