Richard Rothman is a photographer from New York City. He mostly bases his work n fine art. His photos are usually in black and white which gives an odd emotion in the photos. He usually likes taking photos of things that seem simple but have a deeper meaning to it.

When Richard Rothman first started his project on the "Redwood Saw," he was just documenting the redwood trees in California. It then turned into a project as he started to get the town and the people within the town in his photos. He wanted to include the town and the people to represent what was once all redwood trees.
